Business Milestone

I started my own business in November of 1984.

Among the early office supplies I purchased were a Swingline stapler and a box of 5,000 staples in strips of 105 each.

The accompanying photo shows what is left of the original box of staples and its replacement, which cost $3.99 about two weeks ago.

Naturally I don't remember the price of the first box.

It took me 28.5 years to go through approximately 4,800 staples using the original stapler, which is still going strong.
